2017 Viking 48 Conv Sport Fisher

This new 48 Convertible is a handsome addition to the world famous Viking product line  with exciting styling, an impressive three stateroom layout with Viking’s legendary construction and attention to detail. Beginning with the same resin infused beamy hull the new convertible,  carries its breadth farther aft for more interior volume, with a wider cockpit, and more running surface.  

Powered with MAN diesels the 48 Convertible will cruise at 30 knots with a top end in the mid 30 knot range depending upon engine selection, load, sea and other environmental factors. The raked entry and forward chine are designed to pierce through head seas and divert spray downward. Convex hull sections add curvature and form to the running surface, while molded running strakes accentuate lateral tracking and maneuverability.

In a three staterooms layout you find one master and two quest staterooms,  a total accommodations for six people. One master en-suite head and one guest Head/shower  serves the other two staterooms,  Plenty of storage and space allow for long comfortable trips on board. 

You'll find that the salon provides the feel of a much larger vessel with 17' of beam.  To starboard the L-shaped lounge is perfectly situated to view the large flat-screen TV.  The TV also overlooks the spacious dinette area conveniently located opposite the galley.  Together these features provide an inviting interior, ideal for relaxing and entertaining.

 The custom counter-tops accent the teak cabinetry.  The galley island houses the built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration and freezer units, as well as a "clear ice" maker.  Large and deep storage offer maximum convenience and capacity.  The galley also includes a microwave oven, a three-burner electric range and a garbage disposal.

Down a few steps to the companionway is the three-stateroom, two-head layout.  The companionway also has access to the washer and dryer which are conveniently located at the base of the stairs.

The master stateroom has a custom mattress, and a large walk-around berth with storage underneath.  The master head is spacious and is privately accessed from the master stateroom.

The forward starboard guest stateroom has the upper and lower bunk configuration. The port guest stateroom features upper and lower bunks also both with custom Viking mattresses.  The port stateroom has  private access to the guest head. The master and guest heads are both decorated with custom wallpaper and Amtico flooring.

"Access to the engine room is through the lift-up hatch on the mezzanine bench, and the space presents itself well. There is plenty of overhead space to do required maintenance, and all critical areas are within easy reach.

Expertly finished and faired off in bright, refrigerator-white Awlgrip, mechanically, there is little difference between the space and equipment aboard the 48C and her immediately larger sisterships. Along with the pair of optional 1,200 hp MAN V8, she is equipped with Viking’s centralized seawater system.

This system on the 48C is designed with a second in-line pump as a backup, which allows for air-conditioning and other systems to be left operating during ­servicing. Simply shut off the pump that you want to service, turn on the other pump and turn off the valve to the pump you are working with.  “With our centralized system, there’s a lot less maintenance. The smoother running bottom, with only two pickups and a pair of strainers, is also a plus. This makes it  easy to add on something after the boat is delivered.”

Also present were an Eskimo ice machine, a 700-gallon-per-day Sea Recovery watermaker, Cummins Onan 21.5 KW generator and Dometic air conditioning, making the 48C’s engine room a place with a lot of nicely situated equipment."
